Teaching for Change can offer a VERY LIMITED number of workshops during the Black Lives Matter Week of Acton in Schools February 5-10, 2018.

1 - Black Muslims in the United States: An Introductory Activity

Teaching for Change can send someone to teach our new lesson, Black Muslims in the United States: An Introductory Activity (http://www.teachingforchange.org/black-muslims) for grades 7-12.

2 - The Palenque Maroon Community

 Filmmakers Howard University professor Kmt Schokely and colleague Kofi LeNilescan come to speak about the Palenque Maroon community (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8kCFufNPtQ) and other Maroon communities. Maroons are people of African descent who escaped enslavement and created free societies.

3 - Teach the Beat: Go-Go Goes to School

Bring a go-go musician to your classroom (http://www.teachingforchange.org/go-go-performers-coach)

4 - Visit with an SNCC Veteran

Teaching for Change works with the SNCC Legacy Project and can help organize a classroom visit with a SNCC veteran.
