CABA 2024 Awards Luncheon

Join us at the annual celebration in recognition of the outstanding winners of this year's Children's Africana Book Awards. The awards luncheon is being hosted from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library at Howard University. The winners will be available to sign books purchased at the luncheon via Loyalty Books. Registration is required. Luncheon tickets are $50.00 per person.  

The Library is located between Bryant and W Streets. Free parking is available in the Howard University parking lot behind the library which is accessed from Bryant Street. Metered parking is also available near the library.

The Children’s Africana Book Awards (CABA) are presented annually to the authors and illustrators of the best children’s and young adult books on Africa published or republished in the U.S. Africa Access and the Outreach Council of the African Studies Association (ASA) created CABA in 1991 to encourage the publication and use of accurate, balanced children’s materials about Africa. #CABAbooks

The Center for African Studies at Howard University is the institutional base for the Awards.
