Poetry for the People: A June Jordan Experience

About this performance

Theater Alliance and Teaching for Change’s D.C. Area Educators for Social Justice are hosting a Poetry for the People: The June Jordan Experience show and pre-show Teach Truth activities at Dance Place (3225 8th St NE).

Through the Poetry for the People performance, Theater Alliance celebrates one of the most widely-published and highly-acclaimed writers of her generation. Poet, playwright, and essayist June Jordan was known for her fierce commitment to human rights and political activism. With June Jordan’s own words as the core, Poetry for the People brings together words, music, post-it notes, and many other media that tell the story of a life well lived.
