Join the Riversdale House Museum and PG Parks Black History Program for a book talk conversation with Dr. Kate Masur about her new book Freedom Was in Sight!: A Graphic History of Reconstruction in the Washington, D.C., Region. Come learn about the post-emancipation story and hear the words and experiences of people who lived in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, D.C. during Reconstruction like the Plummer family, whose story is told at Riversdale. Learn more about early African American families whose stories overlap and are deeply intertwined and a chance to meet nationally renowned scholar Dr. Kate Masur, and get your book signed.
