Our next meeting has been postponed until Thursday, May 17th from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at the Teaching for Change office (1832 11th St. NW). Please make sure to register below to confirm your attendance. Thank you!
We will be joined by Muriel Hasbun an artist and educator specializing in the art and culture of El Salvador. Hasbun will provide a complimentary workshop on visual literacy as a tool to teach Central American history and culture!
The workshop serves as a precursor to a summer PD opportunity, organized by Laberinto Projects, for teachers in the Washington, D.C. metro area titled Visual Literacy as a Tool for Cultural Proficiency in the Classroom: El Salvador as a Case Study. Hasbun, the founder and director of Laberinto Projects, will be the instructor for this course. Through an immersive experience, teachers will learn visual literacy skills, practice global cultural awareness and develop a deep understanding of the culture, history, and art of the Central American region.
