Capital City Go-Go Education Day

  • Entertainment & Sports Arena 1100 Oak Drive Southeast Washington, DC, 20032 United States (map)

About the event

Capital City Go-Go Education Day is an opportunity for D.C. area students to learn and engage with the rich history and the various stylistic elements related to the go-go music genre.

Performed, exhibited, and demonstrated alongside one of the most popular sports today — basketball — students can explore the rich tradition and history of D.C.’s go-go music and connect their experience with classroom lessons in music, visual arts, and social studies at all levels of instruction (elementary, middle, and high school).

Come out to a Capital City Go-Go game and help Teach the Beat bring the distinctive D.C. sound of go-go music into the classroom. Each ticket package includes a $10 donation back to Teach the Beat.
